Half Day Fly Fishing AdventureCategory: Experiences Availability: Around two dates (a weekday and a Saturday) per month from April to November, when the fishing is at its best. Weather: Fishing will go ahead in most weather although boats cannot go out in high winds (over 23mph) and in that instance Rutland Fly Fishing Adventures will arrange a rebooking. Duration: Lasts for up to four hours. Numbers On Day: Share your experience with one other participant as each boat for the afternoon will contain two budding fly fisherman and an expert boatman. At least a single boat and up to three boats might operate on the day. Spectators: Dress Code: Dress according to the weather, i.e. waterproofs, jacket, hat, sunglasses and sun block in summer. A lifejacket is provided. Guidelines: From the A1, take the A606 towards Oakham. After approximately three miles take the left turn signposted to south shore Rutland Water. Continue for approximately two miles until you see a sign for fishing lodge. Turn into the car park, park up and walk to the harbour to meet your Rutland Fly Fishing Adventures representative adjacent to the lifejacket stand. Pease do not approach the boats until your guide has fitted your lifejacket. Restrictions: Minimum age is 12 and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult (aged 18 or over). No prior experience required. Other Info: All fishing tackle is provided. Description: Get straight out onto the water under the guidance of an expert boatman and experienced Rutland fly fisherman. You'll experience fly fishing for trout on Europe's premier trout fishing lake, the stunningly beautiful Rutland Water. Meet your guide at the water's edge and be taken onto Rutland Water which has around 26 miles of shoreline, covering 3,500 acres and start to fly fish from your motor boat. The quality of fishing is world class yet challenging, however your guide will try his utmost for you to catch a fish. Should you prove to be a natural, you are permitted to take up to two fine trout home. Rutland Fly Fishing Adventures will provide permits (vital in order for you to be allowed to fish) on the day.
