Rally Driving Experience In YorkshireCategory: Driving Availability: At least one date per month (runs selected Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays). Weather: Driving may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions which would make driving at speed dangerous. Please call the venue if in any doubt. Rally Driving Thrill In LeicestershireCategory: Driving Availability: Selected Saturdays and the occasional weekday. Weather: Driving may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions (e.g. ice or heavy rain) which would make driving at speed dangerous. You will be called if the experience is cancelled for any reason. Duration: Your experience will last for approximately 40 to 60 minutes, including briefings, demonstration and 10 minutes' driving time. Please arrive 45 minutes in advance of your booked time to ensure a prompt start. Numbers On Day: There will be up to 18 people taking part, split into three groups for the driving activities. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to join you. Children must be closely supervised at all times. Prestwold Hall boasts an American style diner with food, refreshments and a view of some of the action. Dogs are not allowed at the circuit. Dress Code: Wear trousers, a long-sleeved shirt and flat-soled shoes. Any special equipment will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own helmet if you have one (it will be tested by the instructor). Kids Rally Driving At Silverstone Rally SchoolCategory: Experiences Availability: Sunday to Friday throughout the year as well as Saturdays from April through to October. Weather: Driving might be cancelled in extreme weather conditions (e.g. snow, ice, heavy rain) which would make driving at speed dangerous. Duration: Expect to be at the venue for up to two hours. This includes a briefing, tuition and around 20-25 minutes driving time. Numbers On Day: You will be part of a group of up to six drivers however your driving time is on a one to one basis with just you and your instructor in the car. Spectators: Spectators are welcome and there are superb purpose-built indoor and outdoor viewing facilities. Dress Code: Wear flat shoes or trainers which are comfortable for driving, trousers and long sleeves. Helmets will be provided, but if you have your own you're welcome to bring it along. Guidelines: The centre is just off the A43 close to the village of Silverstone on the opposite side of the road to the racing circuit. From the A43, follow the signs for Dadford and the racing circuit (do not enter the racing circuit). At the first roundabout take the fourth exit (to bring you back down the other side of the dual carriageway as if you were returning to the A43). The centre signposted Rally School is 500 yards from the roundabout on the left. Restrictions: Minimum age is 11, maximum is 17. Minimum height is 4'6'', maximum is 6'1''. You don't need any driving experience but all drivers must be accompanied by an adult. Other Info: This experience takes place at the Silverstone Rally School, not the Silverstone Racing Circuit. Description: Wow guys - you can now drive at the famous Silverstone rally venue, even with no previous driving experience. Begin your session with a safety briefing before practicing the basics, such as the use of the accelerator and clutch control, along with steering and braking techniques. All this on an authentic rally stage in a dual-controlled Ford KA rally car with roll bars and rally seat harness. Depending on how you progress, you may be able to master more advanced techniques such as handbrake turns and power sliding. You will have the chance to put what you have learnt into action with three separate driving sessions and, to finish off, you will be given a high-speed passenger ride by your instructor to see how it really can be done!
