Dinghy And Windsurfing TasterCategory: Water Experiences Availability: Selected Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer season (May to October). Weather: May be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions. Please call the venue if in any doubt. Duration: Your experience will last for three hours. Numbers On Day: There will be up to eight people taking part. Spectators: Guests are welcome at the marina and there is a club house and bar/cafe over looking the lagoon. Dress Code: Bring a swimming costume, towel and pair of old trainers (that you do not mind getting wet). If it's hot bring sunscreen, if it's cold bring warm dry clothes to change into. Wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets are provided. Guidelines: From the M25, go onto the M23/A23; the coastal route A27 links the city east and west. Take the exit for Shoreham Harbour and follow the road round to the traffic lights by Sainsbury supermarket. Turn left and then right at the next lights. Follow the road over the railway down to the coast and turn left. Hove Lagoon is a little way down on the right. Restrictions: Minimum age is 8 years old. You must be a confident swimmer and have not suffered with any previous back, neck or shoulder injury. Other Info: Description: Perfect for beginners, this taster will teach the basics of dinghy sailing and windsurfing. Dinghies are easy to rig and suitable for anyone to handle, making it the easiest way to learn how to sail. Following the session, expect to be able to sail in all directions as well as learning how to set up a dinghy ready for next time. Then onto windsurfing - learn on a beginner board with a lightweight mast. Start out on a simulator and then move onto the lagoon. Learn how to windsurf in light winds to a chosen point and return to where you started the starting point. Each session lasts 90 minutes.
