Tandem SkydivingCategory: Extreme Availability: Venues operate at least one weekend date and some on selected weekdays. The main season is from March to October. Please note that weekends are particularly busy and should be booked several weeks in advance. Weather: Jumping is always subject to weather conditions and cancellations for this reason are made with your safety in mind. It is crucial that you call the venue before you leave on the morning of your jump to check on weather conditions. Duration: Duration is dependent on factors like the weather and the number of participants on the day. As a guide, your training and jump will take around an hour, but you may be at the venue for much of the day. Numbers On Day: Your training might be shared, your jump will be one-to-one with a fully qualified skydiver. Spectators: Spectators are welcome. A camera and binoculars will come in handy. Dress Code: Dress warmly and comfortably, wear trainers and bring a sweater as it can get cold on the airfield. Guidelines: You'll receive further location details when you have booked a date. Restrictions: Maximum weight limits vary by venue, from 15 to 16 stone. Minimum age is 16. If you're over 39 you'll need a signed doctor's certificate. Guidelines: From London, proceed westbound along the M4 and exit junction 15 onto the A419 north (Swindon), take the first exit on the left for the hospital and the third exit for Wanborough. After 300 yards turn left for Lower Wanborough, travel a mile and a half then turn left at the crossroads after Cross Keys pub. The airfield is half a mile on. If you reach the width restriction, you have gone too far. Restrictions: Maximum fully clothed weight is 15 stone. Minimum height 4' 6''. Minimum age 16. Under 18s need written parental consent. Over 40s MUST get the BPA medical form signed by a doctor - bring your form on the day or you won't jump. Description: Jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet might be considered utter madness; but if close friends start to worry about your sanity, assure them you will be securely attached (literally) to a fully qualified instructor throughout. This tandem skydiving experience begins with around an hour of instruction, before you go up. Once you've reached the appropriate altitude, your instructor will help you jump from the plane then you'll get about 30 seconds of freefall, which is so incredible there's no point in us trying to describe it.
