Falkirk Wheel Boat Trip And LunchCategory: Lifestyle Availability: Available most weeks of the year (closes annually on 25 - 26 Dec and 1 - 2 Jan). The Visitor Centre opens 10am - 5.30pm daily (Mar - Oct) and 11am - 4pm Wed - Sun (Nov - Feb). Weather: Trips can be cancelled in icy weather conditions and if this happens, you will be notified and rebooked. Duration: Boat trips last for approximately 60 minutes. Please arrive a few minutes before your trip is due to start, to allow time to collect your tickets before boarding. Numbers On Day: There will be up to 90 people on the boat. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to wave you off and watch you descend. Dress Code: Guidelines: Restrictions: All ages are welcome, but under 18s must be accompanied by a participating adult. Description: Enjoy the picturesque scenery along the historic canals of central Scotland with a boat trip and lunch at the Falkirk Wheel. Board the uniquely designed boat that will begin by sailing into the wheel's bottom gondola, which smoothly lifts the boat 35 metres up to join the Union Canal. Take in the spectacular views as the boat ascends for 15 minutes then once lifted, the boat sails along the aquaduct, through the Roughcastle Tunnel and under the Antonine Wall. Your boat will then be gently carried over the visitor centre and safely back to the boardwalk. Finish off this wonderful experience with a look around the visitor centre and enjoy a scrumptious lunch in the cafe with your meal and drink ticket up to the value of £7.50.
