Rally Driving For Two In NorthamptonshireCategory: Driving Availability: Tuesdays, Thursdays and occasional Saturdays throughout the year. Dates fill very quickly; we recommend you give several weeks booking notice Weather: Driving may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions which would make driving at speed dangerous. Please call the venue if in any doubt. Duration: The experience starts at 9am and lasts around three hours, including briefings, demonstrations and driving time. You MUST arrive early or on time as safety rules dictate that if you miss any of your initial briefing you cannot be permitted to take part. Numbers On Day: There'll be a maximum of six people per car/instructor. Total numbers at the venue will vary. During the driving bit, only you and the instructor will be in the vehicle. Spectators: Spectators are welcome and there are superb purpose-built indoor and outdoor viewing facilities. Dress Code: Wear flat shoes or trainers which are comfortable for driving, trousers and long sleeves. Helmets will be provided, but if you have your own you're welcome to bring it along. Guidelines: The centre is just off the A43 close to the village of Silverstone on the opposite side of the road to the racing circuit. From the A43, follow the signs for Dadford and the racing circuit (do not enter the racing circuit). At the first roundabout take the fourth exit (to bring you back down the other side of the dual carriageway as if you were returning to the A43). The centre signposted Rally School is 500 yards from the roundabout on the left. Restrictions: Maximum height is 6' 6''. Maximum weight is 18 stone. You need a full British or international manual driving licence which you'll need to produce on day. Other Info: This experience takes place at the Silverstone Rally School, not the Silverstone Racing Circuit. Description: Drive around the fantastic rally circuit at Silverstone for a professional rally driving experience for two. You will more than have your hands full controlling a rear wheel drive MkII Escort on a loose surface rally stage. Throughout the day you will be guided by your dedicated instructor who will teach you how to powerslide, turn and skid across the circuit, in a bid to beat the clock. Finally, you have the option to go on a high-speed passenger ride with your instructor at the helm, or take a short drive yourself around the full, specialised rally stage. Saturdays are always busy - book at least six weeks in advance. Weather: Driving may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions which would make driving at speed dangerous. Please call the venue the day before to check final arrangements. Duration: Your experience will last around four hours including a briefing, tuition, driving time and a debrief. Please arrive a few minutes prior to your booked start time. Numbers On Day: There will be up to six participants in your group. Total numbers at the venue will vary. During the driving bit, only you and the instructor will be in the vehicle. Spectators: Up to four spectators are welcome for £10 each, which includes lunch and refreshments. This must be booked and paid a minimum of seven days in advance, direct with the venue. Dress Code: Wear flat shoes which are comfortable for driving. Helmets will be provided on the day, but if you have your own you're welcome to bring it along. Guidelines: Exit the M1, junction 15a, follow A43 for Oxford, passing Towcester, Silverstone and Syresham. From the dual carriageway, turn left for the aerodrome where signposted. After a mile or so, turn right into Turweston Aerodrome and wait at the meeting point on the left hand side of runway. Please exercise caution at all times when on site - beware of potholes and when crossing the runway. Restrictions: Min height 5'2'' and max height is 6'6''. Maximum weight is 18 stone. You don't need a driving licence to take part, but do need to be a confident driver with plenty of experience driving manual cars. Other Info: High-speed passenger rides can be purchased on the day, subject to availability. Description: Enter the fast and furious world of rally driving, which occupies a unique place in the motorsport domain. It requires great technique to learn the secrets of professional rally driving, with powerslides, handbrake turns and skids to negotiate the loose surface rally stages on offer.
