Superboat Offshore ChallengeCategory: Water Experiences Availability: Weekend dates during the main season from May to September, plus selected Fridays around once a month. Weather: This is a weather dependent activity. It's essential that you call the venue for a weather check between 5pm and 7pm the evening before your booking. Duration: This experience lasts for up to four hours, including safety briefings, at least an hour on each boat (including 30 mins driving time per person) and debriefs. Please arrive a few minutes prior to your start time as the boat can't wait for latecomers. Numbers On Day: There will be two people plus the instructor on board. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to wave you off from the shore. There are a number of restaurants and bars nearby within the marina. Dress Code: Dress warmly and bring waterproofs and a change of clothes. Bear in mind that there is a high wind-chill factor aboard the boat. Wear flat, non-slip shoes (e.g. trainers or deck shoes). An old pair of sunglasses/ski goggles will be useful if it's windy. Guidelines: From M27, exit J3 onto M271 following signs to 'Waterfront'. With Ocean Village on your right, drive straight on, under bridge until you reach T junction with 'The Chapel Arms' ahead. Turn right, then right again at roundabout by St. Mary's Stadium (into Belvidere Road). Pick up signposts for Shamrock Quay and turn right into William Street. From M3, exit J14 onto A33, then follow directions as above. Please telephone if you have any problems. Restrictions: Minimum age is 16. Minimum height is 5'. Maximum weight is 16st 7lbs. This experience isn't suitable for anyone with a serious back or heart complaint or for pregnant women. You'll drive the exhilarating Honda Formula 4-Stroke and the phenomenal 125mph Suzuki Hypercat - Europe's fastest commercial powerboat, with a supercharged 300HP engine and an air entrapment hull. Both boats are exhilarating to drive, and so fast that they 'fly' over the surface of the waves. Your experience begins with a safety briefing and an introduction to the boats, then it's onto the water for a full hour on each boat, with instruction on cornering and racing technique, wave-jumping and high-speed take-offs.
